pCO2 correction on iSTAT CG8+
Has anyone heard of pCO2 corrections based on pO2 values, using the iSTAT CG8+ cartridge? Apparently, some users have been told that if your pO2 is in the 200-300mmHg range, to subtract 1.5 mmHg from the pCO2. If in the 300-400 range, subtract 3, and if in the 400-500 range, subtract 5. Trying to determine if maybe this is a barometric pressure issue.
Thank you,

Verify Now
Hi All- I need some information...
If you have multiple Verify Now instruments and running both Aspirin and Plavix assays, how are you validating your instruments every 6 months?
Do you do an instrument to instrument comparison using patient samples in addition to precision (using QC)?
If you are not using V-Nows, what platform are you using??
Any information will be appreciated-

Said: You can run controls as unscheduled but it will not give you credit for doing the scheduled QC. Your iSTATs will lock out testing even if that QC was acceptable when run as unscheduled. I don't think the iSTAT will allow you...
