Point of Care Urinalysis

Hi,

Those that perform point of care urinalysis that is automated:

How are the results displayed in your EMR versus a lab urinalysis?  I would like to know how they are differentiated.  Is the name of the test urinalysis poc, point of care urinalysis etc.?

Any input is appreciated.  Thank you.

Our test has different mneumonic and the results reflect part of that.  For instance, our POC UA is a UAPOC and the results display with a UR in front of the result vs. Lab UA is UARFL and the results have a U in front.

Our Clinitek Status results cross to EMR and are labeled as POC Urinalysis.

Ours are differentiated as well - with each individual parameter followed with the designation, "POCT".

The middleware (Telcor) requests a different LIS orderable, which then populates a unique field in the HIS.  That is not the case with all parameters that have lab and POC in common, but it is with UA.

We have POCUA and POCUHCG.  We have RALS.  populates its own field in HIS.  Yes is is separate.
