HELLO ALL!!

I am having all sorts of trouble with the istat daily amd weekly maintenance log sheets. Alot of them are missing temps, missing initials, checks, etc. i wanted to check with how you manage this. Do you also have maintenance log sheets in every department for the istat?

Thank you in advance!!!

What sort of daily and weekly sheets do you have?

Attachment.notice the missing highlighted portions of this istat maintenance sheet. And I have one of these for every istat instrument in departments around the hospital. I've held a compliance meeting to address this, but wanted to see how everyone else maintains their istat and see if I could do better.

Thank you!

I can't read the Daily, Weekly and Monthly tasks, what are they?

Daily:

Run electronic simulator, Clean I-STAT, Disinfect workstation, inspect for damage, Document room Temp, Document Ref Temp

Weekly:

Check Room Temp Expiration dates

Monthly:

30-day Liquid Quality Control Check.

I found this hard as well.  Instead:

Our Main Laboratory runs the liquid Quality Control monthly on all lots of iSTAT cards.

I send out QA sheets to the individual units to perform each quarter for outdates of all POC kits/tests/reagents.

I don't record inspection for damage.

I worked with our Clinical Engineering Department to place scout thermometers (these are small remote thermometers that wirelessly document temps and alert to a contact phone and email if out of range) in POC locations.
