Point of Care and Occ Health

We have an Occupational Health Department that also acts as a convenient care.  Does anyone know if Occ Health follows different guidelines when it comes to drug screens?  Our Occ Health has I-cup, e-screen, x cup, and M-cup.  Do the drug screens then fall under point of care testing when it come to regulations and inspections?

We do, as long as the staff are not performing any readings and sending the tests out as a "kit" for reads elsewhere, and are just acting as a collection center, then no regulations apply.

They also use the M-cup that is initially read by staff, who perform the CAP mandated waived testing education.

We also have a facility that collects Occ Health samples for sendout.  They send to various ref labs depending on the contracts individual businesses have.  There is one particular cup that includes a screening test in the lid, which is waived.  For that one I do have them complete an annual competency since it is an actual test that they interpret.
