Pooling specimens from the same draw for aliquot

Hi All,
This question is not POC related, but I am trying to find out how other labs handle specimens when you receive multiple collections for the same patient for the same test.
For example, a child is drawn for a comp metabolic, and the nurse sends down 4 full green microtainers, instead of one regular sized vacutainer. Does you lab have a policy on whether or not you can combine the plasma from the four pedi-tubes into one aliquot? In other words, do you have any policy that addresses pooling plasma from the same blood draw on a patient?

This actually just came up here for coag testing, draw in ambulatory then couriered into the lab. Our clinics are expected/required to process all samples needing processing, not just coags.
The coag lab put in an incident report all of a sudden although we had been following exactly what Beaker instructions give on # of tubes to draw. As part of the incident followup, we were asked to not 'combine' aliquots of plasma but to process each tube separately, send separate aliquots in (which are to be frozen first and sent in as frozen). The coag lab said it was to avoid preanalytical issues.
I went back and asked if it explained that way in Beaker and on the Beaker labels. The lab is going to check into doing that.
