PPM - Nitrazine

I'm trying to get our procedures for PPM testing under control (ha!). Our providers use nitrazine pH paper with wet mounts and fern testing, but they are not reporting those results at the moment. How do other places report this? Should I try to add a pH line in the resulting for the Wet Mount and Fern tests or should it be a separate order for pH or Nitrazine or something else?

Thank you!

Our providers also do Fern and pH. They are built as separate orders in Epic. We are looking into Rapid PROM testing and moving the test into lab because, like you said, controlling PPM is such a pain..

We have the pH result grouped in with the wet mount results for our clinics.

The pH result is being built into the Wet Prep result field. It would be a separate order for FERN.

This is why we got rid of the fern test and ph paper, another reason was proficiency of the providers, we went to Amni-sure to resolve these problems

Late to this conversation, but hoping someone will answer! Our providers report the Nitrazine as positive or negative. This doesn't seem very straightforward to me. Are your providers reporting the actual pH NUMBER? If so, is there a reference range for amniotic fluid reported along with the result?
