Medtronic ACT Plus interface - help please!

Hello, all! It's Friday and I'm hoping you're all ready for the weekend! Cool

Does anyone here have any experience interfacing their ACT Plus machine (by Medtronic) to your computer system? Our ACT Plus in our Cath Lab have always been stand alone for as long as I can remember, but now Cath Lab wants to interface to Cerner.  My problem is, our regional IT is asking a few questions, and Medtronic won't even help! The questions are a bit too technical for me, so as a last resort, maybe someone out there has done an interface project?

Our Medtronic ACT Plus is interfaced to Telcor as the middleware and then it sends results to EPIC.

Following this thread! We are at the very beginning of a project to interface our ACT Plus devices to Telcor to Epic.

Donna,

Do users accept the results to send to the chart or is it based on rules set up in Telcor?

Thanks!

I am also interested in this thread. We will be interfacing the HMS Plus to Telcor to SunQuest.

Thanks!

Thanks, everyone -- our ACT is to be interfaced through RALS. Anyone using RALS for their middleware here, please?

We use RALS for our ACT interface.  But we do ACT on istat so I don't know if I'm going to be much help or not.

We also interface with RALs, but we use the Signature Elite for our ACT-LR and ACT+.

We interface our Medtronics HMS+ to RALS and like it.  But I'm not sure if the ACT Plus would be the same module in RALS.

Reine,

Is there billing set up for the HMS thru RALS, what CPT codes and tests are being used?

Rose,

My Medtronic HMS vendor gave me this info when I asked him the same question:

INFORMATION
HOSPITAL INPATIENT REIMBURSEMENT: MS-DRG PAYMENT
Inpatient billing for labs is typically accomplished through the charge master where the CPT codes above are linked to
corresponding lab revenue codes for billing and reimbursed as part of the MS-DRG case rate.
The MS-DRG payment is dependent upon the primary procedure

Hi,

All of the tests interfaced to RALS (HMS+ is one) go through Sunquest then to Epic.  The charges drop when the result is posted.  Same CPT codes as Jeremy.
