ACT comparisons- switching from Actalyke to Hemochron

Has anyone spiked donor samples with heparin in order to perform ACT comparisons between Actalyke and Hemochron? I haven't had success in getting the OR (carotids) or cardiac cath lab to perform side-by-side testing during procedures.
Although the note for CAP standard HEM.37880 states that it is not best practice to use plasma samples spiked with heparin in vitro, I am just trying to obtain some preliminary comparison data to decide if we are going to move forward with the instrument switch.
Any feedback and/or opinions on using the Hemochron for ACTs would also be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Tracey. I ordered the HEPline Kit from Medtronic and used it for a linearity and for instrument comparisons. The catalog number is 313-50. It consists of 5 tubes of increasing amounts of heparin concentrations. You draw blood into the tubes and can use across multiple analyzers. Hope this helps.
