Hello,
I am just wondering how you guys established the reference ranges for blood gas? Did you use the manufacturer's ranges? Also, do you use the same reference range for all ages or do you guys have different ranges and critical for different ages? Thank you very much for your insight.

We mirrored our chemistry department's ranges, except for our NICU patients, where we had to deviate for pO2 and some others, otherwise the ranges are the same for varying ages. We do, however, have slightly different ranges for venous vs arterial. I can email you what we have and use if that will help you. (We use the iSTAT CG8+, formerly G3+).
