NOVA StatStrip Validation

Good afternoon everyone,

We are getting ready to switch over to NOVA StatStrips.
Does anyone have a copy of their validation plan/protocol for the implementation of these glucometers as new equipment that I could look at? How many patient samples did you use for method comparisons?

Also, if anyone has any training material, i.e. a PowerPoint, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Apologies if this is a duplicate request, I know a lot of institutions are in our position!

Thank you,

Nova came in and did the validation and training, but that was back in 2014.  I do know that if you are CAP - there are now rules on validation being done by lab staff not just manufacturer - can't remember if applies to waived.  I will send you some info to your email

I can send you some training powerpoints if you would like?   We have been using Nova for 10 years.

I would also be interested in seeing the powerpoints.

We are Joint Commission inspected, but I am aware that CAP validation requires Operators to be included in the validation of the test method and it is location.  Thank you for the reminder.

I would be interested in receiving the PowerPoints.

@David Pauff - Looks like you have a bunch of us lining up for your training PPTs.  I am also interested (aglomb@luriechildrens.org) we are in discovery phase for NOVA.

FYI: From our recent chats (December/Jan) with Nova they will do a comparison to lab instruments for us but only do a small training session for super-users.

We regularly do 40 samples for our validations (some may be spiked) as well as in-run precision tests.

I just put my training PPT into the group files folder.
