Accula Covid test from Mesa Labs

Our resident Hospital Epi physician here at the NIH CC was curious about the specific usage of the Mesa Accula SARS-CoV-2 assay that other hospitals may currently have in-place. We use it as a point-of-care and have the nurses in full PPE in a negative pressure / isolation room to prevent exposure from aerosols as best we can. I know that one of the local Maryland hospitals has it in the laboratory and is only done by technologists once the specimen has been collected by a health-care provider.
If your service or hospital utilizes the assay in any capacity (or even one of the other tests they offer) could you please email me individually with some basic info?

They’re considering moving it out of the isolation room and using it as a full point-of-care but wanted to have a larger data set about other centers that might use it and how. Currently they’re worried about an open pipetting step and exposure as with other POCT tests.
Appreciate any insight.
Thanks!

Our facility performs the Accula test in the laboratory. All steps are performed under a hood after the swab is collected.
Thank you!
