Approved Disinfectant wipes

Here is what we have in our policy:
Cleaning the exterior surface of the device is required after every patient encounter and when visibly soiled.  Clean with a hospital-approved disinfectant wipe; use bleach wipes for cDiff, Norovirus, or TB patients.  Do not immerse, flood, or apply liquid directly anywhere onto the internal or external areas of the Host or Reader.  Do not expose the Host cradle or Reader pivot electrical contacts to cleaning solutions.  If the electrical contacts are exposed to liquids, ensure they are dry before cradling the Host with the Reader.
We have been using our EPOCs for 4 years and have not had any issues. Hope that helps.

Check with manufacturer. I have been thru this.  Make certain the manufacturer will continue to honor any warranties you may have on the instrument if you do not follow what has been approved for use.  

During the pandemic, no way, no how could we get the cleaning products we needed for clinical and POCT instruments/equipment/devices.
We went to each manufacturer and got in writing the alternatives they'd agree to based on the ingredients but also what could not be a 'hidden' ingredient (eg methanol).
Years ago we used a statement 'use a hospital grade & Infection Control approved' product. We stopped that at the time we knew visibility was high by TJC survey teams due to a focus on low & high level disinfection.  
Plus I agree with Sherilyn's statement about warranty. Plus consider if you have an exchange/trade program with a manufacturer.
