Hi, we follow manufacturer's recommendations. I am not sure how many sample you run daily, weekly, monthly, etc., but we have them run the filters and QC before any patient testing, then it is good for 24 hours. If the unit is closed, they are not required to run it. I hope this helps.

We set up for weekly liquid QC and daily filter sticks on each meter in use.  

We follow the manufacturer's recommendations also.  We run the yellow and orange filters every 8 hours of patient testing (usually run at 0700 and 1500 on these days) and all 3 levels of the liquid controls are run every 7 days.
