Hi Everyone!

Is anyone going to AACC 2021 in Atlanta GA?  It'll be my first time going!  Is anyone planning to do any meetups?  Would love to meet some of you!!
I signed up for the POCT Forum on Thurs 9/30. Didn't sign up for the POCT bootcamp but is anyone planning to go to that event? What are your plans? :)

Yes I am attending whole conference.
Happy to join a group if someone organizes.

Would love to see you at University Sunday POC Boot Camp but be aware that University Sunday sessions are all ticketed. So extra money.

Hi Peggy!  Yes If there's a couple people interested we should have a group meetup!

I've definitely heard of the bootcamp before but I did notice it was extra money so that's why I initially didn't go for it.

But do you recommend going to it anyways?  Maybe I'll change my mind, since I want to hit as many POCT related events and meet more people if it's worth it to attend :)

In the old days (prepandemic!) alot of us would meet up, whomever was attending AACC annual scientific meeting. It's so much fun to meet in person (well, it used to be!). We could still do that even with masks and social distancing...just different than before.

On the POC Boot Camp, it's really unfair of me to suggest paying the $ since I am one of the original developers and continue to present! No way for me to be unbiased ;-) however if you want me to tell you about the feedback we get after each one, and 'what to expect' from us on the breakout interactive sessions during the day,  I'm happy to share more specifics. pmann@utmb.edu

I am interesting in joining the group. :)

A quick suggestion for 1st timers attending AACC ASM is to add the AACC Meetings 2021 app. Several useful utilities. Includes doing contacts from attendee list (if attendee allows).

When we know who is interested, we can do an off-listserve discussion.

I'll be at AACC meeting this year! It won't be the same as in years past, but it's still so terrific to see everyone. Don't forget the Afterglow on Tuesday evening. It's the best social event of the meeting (IMHO!). It's a great chance to meet not just fellow POCCs, but also vendors. The link is below to RSVP. I hope to see you all there!

Hi Peggy! Sent you an email! Also added the App and now I’m on the Attendee List. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Hi Ashley! Awesome, more people to a group!

Hi Kathleen! Thanks for sharing, I signed up :) Do you know what time on Tuesday is the Afterglow & where will it be? So I can put it on my calendar.

Here’s my email in case anyone is hoping to keep in touch for plans. monicanicolas212@gmail.com.

The Afterglow starts at 6pm with our annual CPOCT meeting, then the fun starts! Join at 6pm to see the winners of this year's awards make their acceptance speeches. After, there's food, drinks, music, and fellowship!

Neither me nor my new part time coworker are going this time. :(  With things the way they are with Covid and travel, we didn't even ask. Hopefully things will be better next year. Raise a glass for us! Have fun!
