I have several doctors offices that are wanting to do bilirubins in the office. Can anyone tell me if they are doing this and what are they using?
I appreciate any help Thanks,

This unfortunately is a tough one. We opened several ambulatory primary care and peds offices in the last few years and at the time we opened, we were able to purchase Philip's BiliChek meters that tests a transcutaneous bilirubin. I tried to purchase more in Jan. 2021 and was told that they stopped selling them in Dec. 2020; they would be supported for several more years but no longer for purchase. I've not heard why; our docs were happy with it. The only other model I found on the market is from Draeger and is pretty pricey. It is what is used in our hospital nursery and NICU. If you are able to find anything else, I'd love to hear it! Anita
We've struggled with this for years. Some of our peds clinics have a transcutaneous device, but it's only valid up to about 8. So then they have to send a sample out for analysis. I have not been able to find any device that can do neonatal bilirubin except the Piccolo, and that really doesn't meet the need. I don't know why no one in vendor land has come up with something; I'm sure it would sell!
