Repeat Glucose Results

Hi,

I need some assistance. Do any of you have your repeat glucose results result into your Electronic Health Record? I’m referring to the repeat that is done within 10 minutes? My diabetes is asking why we don’t have all results cross over.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

We let all of our results flow to the chart as the nursing staff acts on the results at the time of testing.  Letting all results flow gets the result to the chart in a timely manner especially if repeat testing happens on an off shift when we are not monitoring RALS.  This also takes the guess work out of trying to decide which repeat result to upload that we have not run ourselves.  We have instructed the staff to use comments to stop results if they believe the result is erroneous.  Comments like procedure error or delete will repeat will stop in our flagged results bucket.  We do not upload these results. If you use RALS and have rules on reviewing repeat testing, you can set your configuration flag to flag any results that repeat within a certain amount of time but still have them release to the chart.  You can then go back and search for repeated results by the flag comment repeated test.  Hope this helps.

We are also like Stephanie in that all results flow over unless a staff use a comment to stop a result that they believe is inaccurate.

We also let all results cross. Performing staff has been instructed to add a comment to results they may question and to repeat testing stating it is a repeat. We monitor results sent with comments and all critical result in the Roche IT1000 and follow up with any questionable/critical results not repeated or verified by a blood draw

We also allow all results to cross. The only exception is <10 mg/dL - those I confirm it wasn't an error, there is a repeat immediately and/or confirmatory lab draw sent. If it meets those criteria I send it across to the LIS.
