Telcor backups

For those using Telcor as your middleware, how often are backups performed on your server? It appears we haven't had one done in quite some time, and looking to see how others are doing it. We have a really busy program, and I'm thinking a quarterly update would be best. Any thoughts?

I might be misunderstanding your question, but we have an automatic database backup every night around 0200.  Not sure if that's standard or too much?

I think we have a database backup as well. This is server maintenance. That allows for patches to Microsoft OS and other updates. I think it's basically just shutting down the server and bringing it up again, and putting in the patches or whatever as needed.

Right.  Ok.  I knew I must be misunderstanding.  Our IT dept performs maintenance on the server hosting Telcor quarterly, which includes a backup, reboot, and whatever else they do.

Hi Kathleen,
Per our IT, patches and updates are monthly for Windows - They are added to Test Telcor on the first week of the month and checked to make sure it works.
Then on the second week of month,  they are applied to LIVE Telcor.
Database (SQL) updates on once a month.

IT does server patches here once month on each POC server. I have the nova and istat DE on auto reboot. The Telcor server could also be on auto reboot but I have hemocue software on there so I do a manual reboot once a month after the patches. It's always scheduled for the same day each month unless there's an emergency patch.
Ours was not being done routinely either about 5 years ago and we were having major issues with functionality

Thanks all for your help.
