D-Dimer POC

Does anyone use POC D-Dimer testing? If so, what is the test/who makes it/pros & cons? Our Urgent Care dept would like to have it added as POC (they are very off site from main lab).

Thank you,
Jill

Hi Jill,
I have it at my off site Emergency Rooms and it is run on the Triage Meter.  It is relatively easy to use, but it is Non-Waived so it does have additional regulatory requirements.  Hope that helps!

Hi Jill, we use the Triage Meter Pro in our ED/UCs, as well as UC branch labs, for D-Dimer. It is mod complex, so you'll need to do a more stringent validation as well as set up an IQCP.  The staff using it have no issues, pretty easy to use. Let me know to my email (kathleen.david@tricore.org) if you'd like to get copies of our documents.

Thanks Ashlee and Kathleen - I've reached out to Quidel to ask about the Triage Meter/D-dimer. If we end up bringing it in house I may hit you up on your documents offer Kathleen.
:)

Any time, just let me know what you need!
