Clinitek Multistix and Microalbumin strips

Hello, does anyone run the Siemens Multistix 10 SG and the Microalbumin 2 test strips on their Clinitek?  We currently just run the UA strip but are getting ready to add the malb strip.  I'm wondering how QC works.  We have daily QC required for the UA, so does that mean the malb will also be locked out if QC is not ran?  I've never configured more than one test strip on the Clinitek.  Thank you for any guidance you can offer, and HAPPY LAB WEEK!

Interesting that you bring this up. I have a few sites that use two different strips, Glucose/Protein and the 10SG. The two strips take two different cassettes and QC lockout is set up. What I found out is that  when QC is ran on one type of strip, the other strip can be utilized and does not require QC. It is almost like the instrument is good to go with either QC.

Maybe there are more settings to engage in? I did not contact Siemens....

We were attempting to do the Micral and Multistix and were told to run one QC as QC and the other manually input as a patient test.  We haven't taken the leap yet because of this.  Similar to Erika says, with QC lockout, it only "requires' one stick.  The other option Siemens gave us was to have 2 instruments one specifically for multistix and one for microalbumin....

We use the Siemens Multistix 10 SG and the Microalbumin 2 test strips on the Clinitek. After performing the daily QC on the Multistix the MIcroalbumin strips are QC'd as a patient test - scanning the QC lot number as the "patient" ID. The microalbumin QC is recorded on a separate QC log form.
