Avoximeter 1000E measured vs. calculated analytes

Do you consider the  %HbO2 and THb on the Avoximeter measured or calculated analytes?  I have always considered them measured and included it in my comparison studies with the lab Blood Gas instruments and Hematology analyzer.  However, it states in the IFU that "the measured values are used to calculate total hemoglobin (THb) and percent oxyhemoglobin (%HbO2).
The reason I am asking, is I sometimes struggle getting my THbs to match within my cutoff of 7% with the lab Hematology analyzer using a lavender top specimen.
Any feedback on your instrument comparisons with the Avoximeter 1000E would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I consider those measured analytes for comparison purposes. The O2 content would be calculated. I think when there is a device reporting both measured and calculated analytes, then you have the option to not do comparisons on the calculated analytes.  But with the Avox, there are no other measured analytes reported, so you should compare what's reported.

I use +/-1 g/dL for my hgb comparisons. I had my director sign off on my comparison criteria/limits. You just have to remind them that you are not comparing apples to apples.

Interesting - I always thought it was just the THb that was measured. Here, we do not report the THb (no idea why and they've never asked for it). So because of that, even though HbO2 is calculated, that's what we report. Of course, we do have to report the THb on our proficiency testing since that is the measured value. I do not do lab/meter comparisons because we don't report that Hgb. I know that others have struggled with this as that AVOX hgb can differ from lab - I agree with Brian's statement on looking at expanding the comparison values.

Thanks for your comments.
