Ambulatory Surgery Center - scope of collection?

Does anyone out there have an off site surgery center they are involved with? Ours has recently re-opened and they have very minimal POC testing there but I am the technical consultant. All fresh tissues/urines/stools/etc get sent to our main lab downtown. They used to draw a lot of "convenience labs" at this site in the past, but it was never overseen by anyone so they were just sending whole blood to the lab when they should have been processing on site. We told them that unless they were going to centrifuge and store correctly on site prior to couriering specimens in the evening, that they couldn't draw samples.

Our clinics process all their samples in the clinic - that is standard process for sample quality. Has anyone else struggled with a site like this?

They need to have some oversight by the lab if they are going to draw samples. If they are going to draw they need to abide by lab standards of drawing/storage. Such as having a centrifuge and refrig(if needed). This is a quality of specimens issue. Do they have a way of sending a packing list? Or are they doing a manual req?
