TJC laboratory standards

Does anyone know if there is a way to "Preview" the Joint commission standards for laboratory testing?  With TJC ending their agreement with COLA, one of our offices is more than likely going to have to switch to TJC as their accrediting agency.  The site only performs 1 moderate complexity test (Creatinine/GFR).  I have tried looking up standards for TJC but am having no luck other than ordering the entire laboratory accreditation manual.  Does anyone know where I could find these TJC laboratory standards, or just a couple of them to view just to have an idea of what standards we could be looking at needing to meet?  I am used to either COLA or CAP where the standards are more clear cut and examples of how to meet the standards are given.  I have heard that TJC has much more vague standards, where the surveyor's interpretation of the standard could determine whether it is met or unmet.   Just looking for any insight.

Thank you!

Hi Ashlee, I am only able to share the WT Chapter standards but that's part of CAMH for hospital survey. I don't have the set of lab standards what would be 'lab accreditation'. I'm wondering though since it would seem TJC would like to help you move from COLA to TJC for your lab accreditation that if you inquire for at least an overview (if not a 'drilled down to nth degree') set of standards, that could be supplied/shared with you?

Thanks Peggy!  I can also see the WT chapter as we use this for the waived testing on our hospital campus.  I didn't think about asking TJC to provide an overview if possible so I will definitely inquire with them.  Thank you for the response!

here is the waived testing chapter, i can share with you:

I have tried also to find this information since I am fairly new to the position and I am more familiar with CAP guidelines.  This information is very helpful.
I have one office that is Joint Commission and the others are not.  I am unsure as to what my role is in the other offices that are not under the hospital umbrella for Joint Commission.  This will be interesting to follow this discussion.  I feel I will learn alot.
